Did you know chocolate brownies could be good for you? Brownies and other sweet treats have got a bad reputation over the years for being the sworn enemy of anyone looking to lose weight, tone up or improve the texture and health of their skin.


But I am sure you (and I) are happy to know that you can enjoy a brownie (or two) entirely guilt free by making them at home using our recipe below! Not only will they provide you with a generous helping of plant-based protein, rich in fibre, amino acids and flavonoids to help you build lean muscle and support your metabolism, they are also a great source of vitamin C, antioxidants and copper that can help your skin build collagen! Nourish your skin and your body while satisfying your sweet tooth with these healthy vegan chocolate protein brownies!

Ingredients

4 medium-sized overripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup almond flour

3/4 cup smooth peanut butter (the looser the better)

2 tbsp cacao powder

3/4 cup Raw Beauty Lab Chocolate Protein and Collagen Booster

1/3 cup chocolate chips (optional but highly recommended)

1 tbsp vanilla extract

Small pinch sea salt

Method

Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F and lightly grease a square 8-inch brownie tin with a little oil or vegan butter.


Add the mashed banana, peanut butter and vanilla extract to a small mixing bowl and mix until properly combined. If the mixture is very thick, add a splash of nut milk to loosen slightly.


Next, add the almond flour, chocolate protein powder, cacao powder and salt to a large mixing bowl and mix together.


Then add the wet mixture to the large mixing bowl and mix together until everything is thoroughly combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips.


Pour the brownie batter in the greased baking tin and spread to ensure the layer is even throughout the tin and place in the oven.


Bake for around 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and then remove from the oven and allow to cool. Slice into small squares and enjoy!
